Author: Mike Wielgus

I graduated from SIUE in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education and was hired by Triad less than a week after graduating and have taught science, math, social studies, and English as core subjects. I moved into the exploratory world in 2005 with the creation of Career Lab. In 2013, I created an exploratory called Tech Lab where students learned about computer coding, digital citizenship, and the Genius Hour Project. I earned a master’s degree in Instructional Technology in 2006 from SIUE and another one in Educational Administration from McKendree University in 2012. I currently teach Career Lab in the mornings and travel between buildings working in instructional technology in the afternoons. I’ve coached 7th grade baseball since the fall of 2000. I love all things technology especially photography, videography, and graphic design. I am married to a school nurse and have three children.
